If your built-in cooktop has a burner that won’t light, an induction zone that stopped detecting cookware, uneven flames, a cracked glass surface, or an error code on the display — you’re in the right place.
Gas, induction, and electric cooktops share almost no components, failure modes, or diagnostic logic. Premium brands add proprietary burner designs, touch-control architecture, and countertop-integrated installation that require brand-specific experience to service correctly. Getting it wrong means a gas safety hazard, a cracked glass surface, or a $3,000–$8,000 appliance that still doesn’t cook.
Every repair uses OEM parts whenever available and is backed by a 12-month warranty on parts and 6 months on labor.

Gas cooktops — Sealed burners with individual igniters, gas valves, and burner caps. Common service points: spark igniters, gas valve assemblies, burner ports, and the spark module. Wolf’s dual-stacked burners use two flame tiers — high heat and simmer — each with independent ignition.
Induction cooktops — Electromagnetic coils beneath a glass-ceramic surface generate heat directly in compatible cookware — no open flame, no visible elements. Service is entirely electronic: inverter boards, induction coils, power supply modules, and touch-control sensors.
Electric radiant cooktops — Glass-ceramic surface with radiant elements beneath. Common failures: burned-out elements, cracked glass-ceramic, faulty touch controls or infinite switches.
Modular cooktops — Individual modules — gas burners, grill, wok ring, steamer — configured side by side in a custom countertop cutout. Each has its own gas or electrical connection; service requires identifying which module is affected and how it integrates into the overall system.
Downdraft cooktops — Integrated ventilation pulls smoke and steam downward, eliminating the need for an overhead hood. Service covers both the cooking surface and the downdraft system: blower motor, vent actuator, and filters.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is my gas cooktop burner clicking but not lighting?
A burner that clicks but won't light is usually caused by a clogged burner port, a misaligned burner cap, a worn spark igniter, or a failed spark module. On Wolf cooktops with dual-stacked burners, only one tier may be blocked. On Thermador Star Burners, any one of the five flame points can be clogged independently. If multiple burners won't light simultaneously, the spark module is the more likely cause.
Why is my induction cooktop not detecting my pan?
An induction zone that won't activate when you place a pan on it can mean the cookware is not induction-compatible (it must have a ferromagnetic base — cast iron and magnetic stainless steel work; aluminum and copper do not). If compatible cookware still isn't detected, the cause is usually a failed inverter board, a damaged induction coil, or a faulty touch sensor. On Thermador Liberty full-surface cooktops, a single coil failure creates a localized dead zone.
Is it safe to use my cooktop if I smell gas?
No. If you smell gas near your cooktop, turn off all burners, do not use any electrical switches, open windows, and leave the area. Call your gas utility first to confirm the supply line is safe. Then schedule a repair — the source is typically a loose connection beneath the countertop, a cracked gas valve, or a failed burner seal that we can diagnose and fix on-site.
Can a cracked cooktop glass surface be replaced?
Yes. The glass-ceramic surface on induction and electric cooktops is a replaceable component. However, it's brand- and model-specific — a Thermador glass top is not interchangeable with a Bosch, even though both brands are made by BSH. Replacement requires lifting the cooktop from the countertop cutout, disassembling the frame, installing the new surface, and reinstalling the unit. We source OEM glass surfaces whenever they are available.
What is the difference between a cooktop and a rangetop?
A cooktop is a cooking surface designed to be installed into a countertop cutout — slim, flush, usually with electronic controls. A rangetop is a professional-style cooking surface with the full-depth chassis and heavy-duty grates of a range, but without an oven below. Rangetops look like the top half of a professional range; cooktops look like a built-in surface. We service both — rangetops are covered on our stove and range repair page.
Do you service modular cooktop configurations?
Yes. Modular cooking systems from Wolf, Miele, and Viking use individual modules — two-burner gas units, grill modules, wok rings, fryers, steamers — configured in a custom countertop layout. Each module has its own gas or electrical connection and controls. We diagnose and service individual modules without disturbing the rest of the configuration.
How long does a cooktop repair usually take?
Most cooktop repairs are completed during the first visit when the failed part is something we carry on the truck — igniters, spark modules, gas valves, common control boards. Induction inverter boards and glass-ceramic surface replacements for specific models usually require ordering an OEM part. We tell you the timeline upfront after diagnosis.
Is the diagnostic fee waived if I approve the repair?
Yes. We charge a diagnostic fee for the technician's visit and inspection. When you approve the repair, the diagnostic fee is waived — your service call costs nothing on a completed job. See our current promotions for details on waived diagnostic fees and other active offers.
